jed darland, the founder and president of daarlandt partners inc. has an expansive background in design. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon’s School of Architecture, Darland’s first published work, a photography book about design as it relates to human scale, sold from the shelves of fine museum stores across the country. His passion for good design and his understanding of business led him to start dpi to help startups create their corporate identity and launch new products to market. His passion for furniture design and gardening inspired the creation of a new concept in decorative garden markers, the Plant Picket. He began his journey as an avid entrepreneur with the goal of setting an example to others that owning your own business and being successful is rewarding and requires relentless execution. Darland mentors emerging entrepreneurs at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business sharing his experience and providing advice to young aspiring business leaders.
